Five flexible sleeping areas—including both dedicated bedrooms and a multi-use game room—make it easy to accommodate larger groups or multi-generational stays. The gourmet kitchen, outdoor living spaces, and exclusive location combine to provide comfort, relaxation, and easy access to the best of Blowing Rock, Boone, and the High Country. Please note: winter guests require AWD/4WD vehicles, and extended stays are welcomed with a clear cleaning policy.

In winter, the App Ski Mountain slopes are just a quarter-mile away—perfect for families introducing kids to skiing or friends eager to catch the first chair lift. The paved driveway is plowed when snowfall exceeds three inches, but from November through March, AWD/4WD vehicles—and sometimes chains—are essential for safe arrival due to mountain weather conditions. After a day outdoors, rejuvenate in the luxurious hot tub or gather for games in the flexible game room. Off-season, you’ll also enjoy quick access to nearby hiking trails, mountain biking, and breathtaking mountain overlooks.

Important Information

Check-in and Check-out Procedures

  • Check-in is after 4pm and check-out is by 10am.
  • Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent.

Property Access

  • Enter the main level from the paved driveway via two steps onto the front deck.
  • This homeowner uses one exterior security camera, mounted above the garage door, to ensure their home remains safe.

Policies and Rules

  • No pets are permitted anywhere in or on the premises at any time, including outdoor spaces. Bona fide service animals with appropriate certification may be permitted, and the presence of a certified service animal must be disclosed prior to check-in. Misrepresenting a pet as a certified service animal is a crime under North Carolina law. Guests who bring a pet to a no-pet home will be subject to a non-refundable $500 extra cleaning fee to remove pet hair and dander and clean carpets and upholstery.
  • If any pets are discovered during your tenancy including via security camera or observation of neighbors or BRMR staff, your credit card on file will be charged for the above-mentioned fee, and you will be evicted without refund of unused days.
  • No smoking allowed inside the home. No trace of smoking should be left outside the home.
  • Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.
  • No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.
  • Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
  • Minimum age: 25 years.
  • Children allowed.
  • No events allowed.

Fees and Payments

  • Guests who bring a pet to a no-pet home will be subject to a non-refundable $500 extra cleaning fee to remove pet hair and dander and clean carpets and upholstery.
  • Stays of 2 or more weeks at Chipmunk View Lodge are welcome, with an additional $125 cleaning fee added to the existing cleaning fee.
  • All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.

Parking Information

  • The driveway for Chipmunk Lodge is paved and is plowed in winter when 3 inches or more of snow falls. 4WD or AWD vehicles are required from November to March, and chains may also be necessary to access the property in snow or ice.
  • 4WD/AWD and/or chains are recommended during winter (November-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement.

Utilities and Amenities Access

  • All BRMR homes offer well-stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a starter set of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two.
  • Towels and bed linens will be provided.
  • We do not provide hair dryers.
  • HOME NO LONGER HAS A POOL TABLE AS OF AUGUST 2023.

Safety and Emergency Information

  • Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals.
  • This homeowner uses one exterior security camera, mounted above the garage door, to ensure their home remains safe.

Cancellation Policy

  • Bookings canceled 60 or more days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit.
  • Bookings canceled between 31 and 59 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit.
  • Bookings canceled within 30 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest.
  • All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
